Medical Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine and has been extensively researched in science to prove its efficacy.
The World Health Organization, National Institute of Health, Food Drug Administration, Ontario Medical Association are a few of the organizations that approve the use of Acupuncture as a medical practice. It is a technique that requires the insertion of fine stainless steel needles into the skin to stimulate known acupuncture points. These acupuncture points are closely related to nerves and muscles and are therefore very effective in stimulating the body to heal itself and to decrease acute or chronic pain.
Scientific evidence has shown acupuncture to:
- Reduce/Relieve Acute or Chronic Pain
- Encourage Natural Healing
- Improve Function of Body Parts
- Improve the Body’s Biochemical Balance
Acupuncture is a very safe modality when practiced by a trained health care professional and is often used as an adjunct modality for physiotherapy and massage therapy to accelerate and promote healing. At LifeSpring, only single use needles are used.
Discuss with your physiotherapist if you could benefit from acupuncture as a part of your treatment plan.
